Each of us is a storyteller, an inescapable part of us. During these six weeks you will discover how to develop your natural storytelling skills further. Together, we will explore the art of storytelling, starting by finding a story that is right for you. Sources such as folktales, legends, myths, stories from your childhood, and local lore lend themselves to storytelling. You will explore different ways to tell stories and prepare a story to tell within a supportive and collaborative community of listeners and tellers. There is no one way to tell a story and each of us will develop a unique style of telling. Our final session will be a story share. You will tell your story to invited family and friends, who will be our audience. The choice to participate in the story share is yours. In today’s world, storytelling is a way to celebrate a “people-to-people world”. - Joanne Haley-LeBlanc
