Bailee Higgins (she/her) is an Unama’ki - Cape Breton Island based visual artist and art educator with a passion for community-based work.

Her art practice currently focuses on landscape painting. She creates bright, bold, and vibrant paintings inspired by her surroundings which are aimed at capturing the essence and feeling of a place.

Bailee is a graduate of NSCAD’s Master of Arts in Art Education (2022), Mount Allison University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts (2020), and CBU’s Bachelor of Education (2024). She currently resides in Coxheath, NS.

During her residency, Bailee created work inspired by the Fredericton Botanic Gardens. She created daily en plein air paintings and hosted drop in art sessions in the park where participants created art inspired by their surroundings. Whether participants were experienced artists or picking up a paintbrush for the first time, all were welcome!
