This hands-on six week class will equip students with a wide range of drawing strategies and will get them ready to start making masterpieces of their own. This course is great for students looking to build general skill sets that can be transferred to all sorts of arts and drawing styles. Students will use pen or pencil on paper as their medium and will leave each class with a new piece of work in their portfolios.
Each lesson will start with a short intro to drawing theory followed by exercises and time to apply what they’ve learned directly onto works of their own. Topics of study will include lighting, general composition, and perspective theories. The class will focus on developing skills in drawing features and elements that help bring portraits to life, such as posture/ eye and facial expressions. Once the six weeks are through the students will have everything they need to step into the world of drawing with confidence and a personal style of their own.
