Is Nova Scotian funeral director-turned-songwriter Terra Spencer “the Canadian Carole King”? Sunset, her upcoming fourth solo album, makes a strong case for it. Rich with the ‘70s wood-paneled warmth of the records she discovered in her grandparents’ basement, Sunset will make its debut in fall 2024 with a list of cross-Canada solo tour dates. The album features a host of Canadian stars from coast to coast (Stephen Fearing, Ian Sherwood, and Matt Andersen are on the roster) performing the signature heart-charged songs that have endeared Terra to audiences and fellow artists alike. Fresh from touring with folk icon David Francey after contributing to his Juno-winning album The Breath Between, Terra brings her deft fingerstyle guitar, church bench piano, and butterscotch voice to the stage, mixed with East Coast charm, innate storytelling, and disarming wit. “The real deal” - Ron Sexsmith
