Whether you are new to figure drawing, or you are looking to improve your skills, this class is for you! Your instructor will guide you through the steps of drawing a figure from life, presenting different strategies for approaching poses of short and long duration, and poses with varying levels of complexity. This course will cover gesture and rhythm, sighting and measuring, lighting and value, and touch on basic proportion, construction, and anatomy.
The course will meet from 9am-4pm on Saturday Oct. 29th, and 1pm-8pm on Sunday Oct. 30th. Classes will be held in the CSAC Auditorium. The registration fee per student is $155 dollars, with students being asked to bring their own supplies to class. Class supplies are the following:
Pad of Cartridge/Drawing Paper or newsprint (18x24”)
A range of Artists Pencils (2H, HB, 3B recommended)
Kneadable Eraser
Matt Watkins is a Visual Artist and Craftsperson. He is an Instructor at the New Brunswick College of Art and Design, and offers workshops throughout the year in Drawing, Painting, Jewelry and related topics. He enjoys working with students, and seeing their abilities and confidence grow. Matt currently works out of the Charlotte Street Arts Centre in Fredericton.
