A Soprano in Hollywood is brought to the Charlotte Street Arts Centre by Rebecca Caine and Robert Kortgaard. Enjoy a show that celebrates great music through the last century of Hollywood films, with songs from early movies, pieces from West Side Story, a Disney set, A Sound of Music/Mary Poppins medley, to more contemporary films with music of Stephen Sondheim, from Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera (The two shows Rebecca starred in.)
A Soprano in Hollywood will be on tour in the Winter months and arrives at the Arts Centre on Sunday, February 19th for an afternoon show beginning at 3:30 PM.
Rebecca Caine created the role of Cosette in Les Miserables and was part of the original cast for Phantom of the Opera in BOTH London and Toronto. She has been the principal soprano in numerous operas throughout the world and has recently been chosen for the People's Choice Award as the Best Cabaret Singer of the Year by Broadway World (Toronto).
Robert Kortgaard is a Prairie-born pianist who has studied at the Juilliard School (BA, MA) and post-graduate studies in Italy and England. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras and given recitals throughout North America, Asia, Oceania, and Europe. Further, he is a much sought after accompanist for vocalists and other instrumentalists.
All procedes of this event go towards to Accessibility Expansion Project for the Charlotte Street Arts Centre.
