The Charlotte Glencross Gallery

The Charlotte Glencross Gallery, located in the heart of the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, provides a visually unique exhibition space frequented by a diverse and appreciative audience for the arts. Wall space in the gallery spans two floors, including the building’s entryway, four staircases and a second floor landing, within a beautiful heritage building in Fredericton’s downtown. Brand new track hanging devices and security cameras, plus a large and steady flow of visitors provide a safe and highly visible area for artistic works in a wide range of media. As a hub for creative activity, the Charlotte Street Arts Centre’s Glencross Gallery offers an authentic presentation space supported by its tenant artists, arts organizations and its reputation in the community.

Our House Band

The Charlotte Glencross Gallery is pleased to feature free live music during most opening receptions for our exhibitions. Our select house band, Richard Gloade, Esq situate themselves on one of our landings between the first and second floors and provide an ambient sound to enhance the atmosphere of our gallery space.

Deeply inspired by the smooth sounds of the blues, soul, jazz, and reggae, Richard Gloade Esq take pride in performing a wide variety of music that is both emotionally significant and innately positive.

The Way I Look At It | George Strunz

The Charlotte Street Arts Centre is pleased to host the upcoming exhibition, The Way I Look At It by George Strunz, from May 4 – June 10, 2012. The exhibition will feature numerous pastel, acrylic and watercolour paintings that feature natural themes such as landscape, still life and environmental portraits. All works will be for sale as a joint fundraiser for the Charlotte Street Arts Centre’s ArtReach program, which provides free arts-based education to marginalized groups, as well as for the John Howard Society of Fredericton. The Charlotte Street Arts Centre is deeply grateful to George Strunz for his creative efforts to support our vision of opening the doors of creative expression to all.

The opening reception for The Way I Look At It will take place in the Charlotte Glencross Gallery at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, 732 Charlotte Street, on Friday, May 4, from 5-7pm. All are welcome to attend, meet the artist, and enjoy live Latin-inspired music by our house band, Richard Gloade, Esq and beer tastings by our ever-generous sponsors, Picaroons Traditional Ales.
